The LORD has established His throne in the heavens; and His sovereignty rules over all” (Ps 103:19). The Bible teaches very clearly that God’s providential rule extends over all things. God rules over nature, or the realm of natural processes governed by natural law. He also rules over history, or the realm of human decisions, deeds, and destiny. In our discussion of the providence of God we will distinguish three different ways in which God relates to the world.
